RREPUT

How scoring works

General reputation of a French company, or of a person with a public or professional role in any country. Company scoring values are provisional until approved.

Companies (France)

1. You confirm the company. We show the companies that match what you typed and why. Research starts only after you pick one. We never choose for you.

2. Official records first. The company register, the official gazette of legal notices (BODACC), the EU, UN, French, US and UK sanctions lists, and French court decisions. Then news, reviews and other web pages, read in full. A search result on its own is never evidence.

3. Every finding must be about this company. Legal notices are matched by company number. A court decision counts only if the company was a party, lost, and its address or number matches. A web page showing another company's number is excluded.

4. Fixed rules decide, not the AI. The AI reads and sorts documents and writes the plain-English sentences. The score comes from fixed rules, so the same records always give the same result.

5. Sometimes there is no number. A closed company, an insolvency in progress, or anything waiting for our team to check gives a status instead of a score. If an essential source fails, or nothing about the company's real activity (such as customer reviews) is checked yet, the report shows “Limited evidence”.

6. Scores and bands. 80–100 good standing · 60–79 some concerns · 40–59 significant concerns · below 40 serious concerns. Serious recent findings limit the score so a small weight cannot hide them. A lost court case counts at any age: −30 under 5 years, −15 at 5–10 years, −5 when older.

People (any country)

1. Only people with a public or professional role. A public figure, a company director or executive, a health professional, a lawyer, a financial professional, or a professional at the company you name. Private individuals are not researched.

Licence to practise. REPUT reads the official register where it may (today: France's national lawyers' directory). For any other doctor, lawyer or financial professional the report says the licence was not checked, says why (a paid register, a website search only, or terms that forbid automated use), and links the official register so you can check it yourself.

2. You confirm the person. People with the same name are kept apart, and research starts only after you pick one.

3. What is searched. The EU, UN, French, US and UK sanctions lists (with the birth year), politically exposed persons and watchlists when connected, news in the person's country and language read in full, their company roles, their company's and their own website, their public accounts and Reddit. Court decisions are not searched for people.

4. Every page must be about this person. It must name them and one of their roles; pages about someone with the same name are excluded. A serious event (an investigation, charges or a judgment against them) waits for our team's review before it counts.

5. Never points. Followers, the number of mentions, a political role, public accounts, Reddit posts and websites never add or remove points: they are shown so you can judge them.

6. The score. Sanctions lists and confirmed news articles, with the same bands as companies. A confirmed serious event: −30 under 2 years, −15 at 2–5 years, −5 when older; one case counts once. A court or authority decision against the person in the last five years limits the score to 59. With fewer than two checks giving a result the report says “Insufficient data”, and a person reported deceased gets no score.
